Fremont First Chinese United Methodist Church (FCUMC) is a part of the worldwide Methodist Church that has a membership of about 30 million, of which 9 million members reside in the United States. In addition to the English ministry, the United Methodist Church has established ministries in nine other languages or dialects. In the Bay Area, we are the first and, at the moment, the only Mandarin-based United Methodist Church. Due to the growing needs of our people, we have also started our English ministry. FCUMC was pioneered by our Senior Pastor, Rev. Wesley Yong, who has also pioneered four other congregations in his eighteen years with the Methodist Church in Singapore. In 1985, Rev. Wesley Yong came to the U.S. and started this church. In November 2001, our new and beautiful church building was dedicated for service to God and the community. Rev. Wesley Yong retired June 30, 2012.
